GSO Newtonian telescopes are known for their solid manufacturing and exceptional optical quality. The robust mechanics are particularly suited to their use in astrophotography. Even heavy cameras are well supported by the focuser.
After the great successes experienced by GSO’s smaller Newtonian telescopes, many have been awaiting the larger 10” and 12” Newtonians. A telescope with so large an aperture does not only reveal all there is to see on our Moon and the planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, but is also very interesting for deep sky observation - and all this with one hundred percent astrophotography suitability!
The advantages at a glance:
- Very good diffraction-limited optics
- Solid and adjustable metal primary mirror and secondary mirror supports
- Slim secondary mirror supports for maximum contrast
- High-quality focuser
- Generous focal plane for visual and photographic use
- Primary mirror ventilation for faster cooling
- Powerful multi-coated 8x50 viewfinder with quick connector
The 2” Crayford focuser with micro-reduction: The focuser is an essential part of the telescope. It should facilitate delicate focusing and also hold heavy equipment. This telescope's focuser is a high-precision Crayford focuser with micro-reduction and robust ball bearings. This facilitates smooth adjustments, even when carrying loads upwards of 3kg.
Positioning accuracy is less than 0.08mm. This level of precision is sufficient to find the exact focal point even with high-resolution sensors and to get the most out of your optics.
