Binoculars

The "very good" rating for binoculars is achieved if they meet the following criteria:

• The magnification should not exceed 6 times
• A front lens diameter of more than 25 mm only makes the binoculars large and bulky
• The weight should be no more than 250 grams

For a "good", binoculars must achieve these values:

• Magnification: max. 10 times
• Front lens diameter: min. 25 mm
• Weight: max. 400 grams

For a "medium" we will accept:

• Magnification: max. 10 times
• Front lens diameter: max. 30 mm
• Weight: max. 400 grams

Binoculars weighing over 400 grams, or whose front lens diameter is over 30 mm, are rated by us as "not recommended" for the theatre.

Many customers also use small opera glasses. Their imaging capabilities may not be as good, but they provide a larger field of vision and thus a better view of events on stage.
