The British company Starlight Xpress was founded in 1991 by the amateur astronomer Terry Platt. The small British team develop and test cameras and accessories. The aim is to offer the highest quality products possible, without losing sight of the limited budget of amateur astronomers.
The very sensitive Lodestar and Ultrastar autoguiders are particularly popular, along with the Trius series of cooled cameras. Another of Starlight Xpress’ specialities is the Oculus 180 all-sky camera, which is perfect for monitoring the sky.
