This high-precision, rigid mount is intended for ambitious astrophotographers as well as for serious observers who do want to exceed a payload of 15kg.
Enjoy the ease-of-use and the enthusiasm that has been put into our new Sphinx Deluxe telescope mount.
- all the features of the Sphinx SX Mount as well as the GoTo Star Book control are included.
- in contrast to the SX mount, two ball bearings are used for the polar axis (right ascension), three ball bearings for the declination axis and four more ball bearings for the worm gear shaft, for more efficient operation and less load on the motors.
- worm wheels in RA / DEC, compared to the SX, are made of brass for a higher degree of stiffness and a higher load capacity
- high-precision machined steel is used for both axes to ensure higher stiffness and a higher load carrying capacity. (SX: Al alloy)
- lapped worm wheels immensely improve synchronization.
- allows a maximum payload of 15kg
- polar elevation can be set from 0° to 70° latitude. A tangential screw with micrometric fine adjustment of +/-15° azimuth is built into the mount block.
- a flatter mount ending allows combination with home-made piers.
- OTA mounting is via the tried-and-tested Vixen dovetail system
- the stainless steel counterweight shaft can be slid completely into the mount, ensuring improved portability
